many offerings by CNet. This site boasts of daily news updates
in the fields of computers and the Internet. Rajesh ensures that
he visits this site daily to stay abreast what's happening in
the techno world.
Second on his list is Excite (www.excite.com) - a search
engine cum news site. "I like the channel concept and the
personalisation element (live.excite.com). News coverage split
across the various channels also makes it easy to stay in touch",
says Rajesh.
Standing proud at the bronze position is Herring Communication's
site - Redherring (www.redherring.com). Redherring.com
gives surfers a look at the business side of technology. This site
was a discovery for me too, so I followed the link when Rajesh
told me about it. One particular article caught my attention -
it was about 20 entrepreneurs whose innovations have the potential
to transform technology. There's an Indian in that list - very
interesting reading about people who took that risky step of starting
something on their own.
Now before you think it's just partiality, Rajesh explains why
he chose IndiaLine (www.indialine.com) as another favourite
: "Yes, its our own site. But I feel it's one that brings
out the best in Internet reporting from India. It's about the
Internet in India; its what is not covered in publications anywhere
in India; interviews with the people who are working in this fledgling
industry, success stories on the Net, exploration of ideas on
how businesses should use the Net." For those who aren't
familiar with IndiaLine, it is a ezine (electronic magazine) from
the IndiaWorld family that covers the Net scenario in India.
